VMI Holland has won a lawsuit in the ongoing legal dispute with Safe-Run Intelligent Equipment Shares following accusations of IP infringement and patent hacking.

VMI first filed a lawsuit at the Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court in Jiangsu Province against Safe-Run on April 22, 2019, stating that the company had abused the Intellectual Property and legal systems in China, otherwise known as an Abuse of Court.

Safe-Run was found to have knowingly filed and obtained technology patents that had already been developed by VMI, and then maliciously used these patents against VMI during the case. The court ruled in favor of VMI, and awarded the company compensation for its losses.

President of VMI Harm Voortman commented, “This verdict reinforces our faith in the Chinese legal system. We await the outcome of the other ongoing lawsuits with great confidence. The compensation will be donated to charity.”
